The trip to the Elsass

started on sept. 15th, and before joining Joes and Isabeau and many other quilting buddies i decided to take an early train and stay a few hours in Strassburg, a beautiful and historic town. The river Ill runs throug and the river Rhine is not far and in the same time the border with Germany. For my dutch readers: the Elsass is a must for you if you like the paintings from ANTON PIECK,

Iron balconies and mysterious courtyard with cobble stones are everywhere, wished i had stayed over for night.....

The cathedral is a bit difficult to picture, not much space around, but the color of the stones goes from pink to dark red, very impressive.

This is the Kammerzell house, now a restaurant, supposed to be one of the oldest in Strassburg.
Next post i'll show you antique quilts, and of the very best kind!
Take care, Will V in Paris.

Can't wait to see your pictures from the show and your meeting your friends. We enjoyed Strasbourg when we were there too so I'm so glad you were able to spend a little extra time before everything started!
